CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The Jinwa Prize Final Review and Shortlisted Works Exhibition were held at Chongqing Beicang Library on January 17. The shortlisted 117 interior design works were all on exhibit. The exhibition, free of charge, will last for two weeks. Over 30 judges specialized in design, architecture, fine arts, literature, music and photography graded those works at the site.
The Jinwa Prize, initiated by the financial magazine WATCH Spectator, is an annual ceremony entitled “Catch Sight of Design” to award excellent interior design.
Started at the beginning of last year, the committee received 527 interior design works from Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Suzhou, Hong Kong, Chengdu and Chongqing. Finally, 117 works, including 43 works on commercial space, 50 works on residential space and 24 works on residential program were selected for the exhibition.
The shortlisted works on residential space are mainly in a concise style. Designers abandoned those colorful ornaments, but highlighted the inner demand and the sense of family. The works on commercial space integrate more architectural language and highlight the different functional designs of spaces such as teahouse and children’s amusement park.
At the site, a work on commercial space, featured by the features of Tujia stilted buildings and rock-shaped splicing on wall as well as geometrical water waves on the floor, presented the local spirit and cultural connotation. (Translated by Xu Mengmiao, Fathom Language Limited)
